Hi everyone,I am a bit lost about what is happening and doctors do not seem to give clear answers. My mum has been on Dialysis for a few years and suddenly recently she started having a high temperature after dialysis which disappears the day after but comes back after another dialysis again. She has noticed it started after she has been put on some medication for her gastrointestinal problem which seems to have been fixed.
What can this be and what else can be checked? The tests seem to be fine but she is also so weak now and has no energy and wants to sleep all the time
I am so worried.

Blood pressure when she comes for dialysis is 150 and drops to 100 during dialysis. This is true about dehydration . She was saying that the water was not staying at all and she was very dehydrated. She mentioned this several times. Although now she says the water started staying for the last 4 days and she has put a bit on weight. She had dialysis yesterday and temperature starts rising during dialysis already. When she got home it was 38.4
A little fever after dialysis is common case, but 38.4 is too high. Center personel can adjust temperature of blood (usual value is 37). Need dry weight check. How clear is dialysis filter after procedure?
Today she tried drinking water and had no temperature during the dialysis but when she came home she had again 38 temperature. All tests came back fine and can't fund any infections or abnormalities. She also started having really bad sweats at night so she changes clothes 3 times per night. Nothing day time. She had no temperature yesterday and today before dialysis.
It is so strange. Doctors can't tell also. They are now thinking may be the medication she was put on is affecting it but she did not take this medication today. 😞 I am so worried. Not sure what else to check.
High temperature is sign of inflammation. High levels of protein (GOP, GPT) also points to inflammation. What the medications you were used? Binders are not causing rising temperature.
I found out which medications she has been taking: midrol and pentasa. It seems that all went down the hill after she took them. Her blood pressure started to go up to 200 also. She stopped the meds but she keeps having those symptoms and gets weaker and this is the problem . She is 76 so it's gard for her to not sleep at night and have a temperature. Both meds seem to have awful side effects but they don't speak about temperature though however medrol mentions hormones and sweats. I so much regret her taking those meds. They have not even helped, all got better by itself for her - the other issues she had.
