My husband was diagnosed with CLL last July 2023. He desperately needs a holiday. We would like to visit our daughter and grandsons in Italy. We are experiencing difficulty securing travel insurance to cover CLL and coronary artery disease. We have contacted Insurewith and Staysure so far. They want to know if he is on chemotherapy. He has been taking Acalibrutinib which is classed as chemotherapy therefore they will not cover him. He has responded really well since starting it shortly after diagnosis and no side effects experienced and has had all clear from Consultant Haematologist to travel to EU.
Any suggestions would be welcome.

Apologies absolutely not needed because this will help others. I’m just suprised StaySure have turned her husband down as they are usually very good and I have my travel insurance with them. I think sometimes travel insurers misunderstand the newer treatments.
I think you are right. I have my annual travel cover with them and it was an easy process - apart from the time it took to type in all my health problems!!!
